[DMANET] FOCS 2025 in Sydney

Hi,

As you may be aware, this year, FOCS will be held in Sydney, Australia, for
the first time in its history. The conference will take place on December
14-17 (in summer time!), and will be preceded and followed by (not
officially affiliated) free "satellite" events, held at the University of
Sydney, one of which is "A Celebration of TCS" (Dec 11-13).

More details about FOCS can be found at https://focs.computer.org/2025/
(and about the satellite events at
https://focs.computer.org/2025/activities/).

Having FOCS in Australasia for the first time is a great opportunity to
visit this part of the world, while attending the conference. To make
attending easier, especially for students and postdocs, we offer some
travel support for the events. In particular, I would like to highlight a
few important dates:
- September 15: Nominations for the 2025 Test of Time awards [
https://tc.computer.org/tcmf/2025/08/26/focs-test-of-time-award-call-for-nominations-2025/
]
- September 19:
* Student and Postdoc Travel Support deadline [
https://focs.computer.org/2025/travel-support/] (please encourage your
students to apply!)
* Deadline/Expression of interest for childcare support [
https://focs.computer.org/2025/childcare-support/]
- Also September 19: Travel support deadline for the "Celebration of TCS"
event [https://sites.google.com/view/celebration-tcs-2025/travel-grants]
Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements!
- November 21: FOCS early registration deadline [

Please let me know if you have any questions -- and looking forward to
seeing you in Sydney this December!
