Dear colleagues,

We have openings for **three postdoc positions** and one **research
assistant position** as part of our research project "[Aggregating
Safety Preferences for AI Systems: A Social Choice
Approach](https://sites.google.com/view/sc4ai/projects/aspai)," funded
by the [Advanced Research + Invention Agency
(ARIA)](https://www.aria.org.uk/). Our project aims to develop and
analyze new methods in computational social choice for eliciting and
aggregating safety specifications for safeguarded AI systems.

**Postdoc positions** are available at:

* University of Warwick (Coventry, UK) with [Markus
Brill](https://www.markus-brill.de/)
* Hasso Plattner Institute (Potsdam, Germany) with [Niclas
Boehmer](https://sites.google.com/view/niclas-boehmer/home)
* University of Groningen (the Netherlands) with [Davide
Grossi](https://davidegrossi.me/)

We seek candidates with a strong background in (computational) social
choice, (algorithmic) game theory, and/or AI safety.

The positions are intended to begin in **October 2025** and are offered
for one year (Warwick and Potsdam) or two years (Groningen). The
application deadline is **June 15th, 2025**.

At Warwick, we're also hiring a **research assistant**. This position,
for which a PhD degree is not required, has an earlier application
deadline of June 1st, 2025.
