[DMANET] PostDoc Position - Torino (Italy)

The Probability team of Torino University will offer a one year
PostDoctoral Positions on Branching Processes and/or Superprocesses

The position will be supported by AMALFI project
(http://amalfi.di.unito.it/), funded by University of Torino and San
Paolo Bank Foundation.

The main research activity will focus on the probabilistic
models for information dissemination through personal devices. This
type of models relate with Epidemic Processes (Spread of
Information) in large Dynamic Networks modelled as Superprocesses or
Random (Evolving) Graphs.

The research group is currently formed by Probability and Computer
Science researchers. The post doc will work on the mathematical part
of the project but he/she will also interact with computer science
researchers and will work in an interdisciplinary context..

Candidates should be less than 35 years old. They should hold (at the
moment of the application) a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science,
Mathematics or Physics. They should have a strong background in
probability and research experience in some of the following topics:

- Continuous limits of discrete processes
- Markov Chains/Diffusion processes
- Random Graphs
- Mathematical Epidemiology/Branching processes
- Superprocesses

Furthermore, in order to apply the candidate should have already
published at least one paper.

Knowledge of Italian is not required, but good communication skills
and a good knowledge of English are essential.
