Dear HPC Community and Colleagues, The NHR@SW HPC Center is pleased to announce the three-day online HPC I/O Performance Analysis Workshop, taking place from 2 to 4 November 2026, daily from 13:30 to 17:00. I/O is often overlooked when analyzing HPC performance, although inefficient data access can quickly become a major bottleneck. This hands-on workshop introduces best practices for HPC I/O performance and provides practical training with Darshan and DFTracer. Participants will learn how to characterize application I/O behavior, identify common performance issues, and use profiling and tracing tools to analyze I/O workloads on HPC systems. The workshop will cover: - Introduction to parallel I/O and storage - Best practices for HPC I/O - I/O characterization with Darshan - I/O profiling and tracing with DFTracer Guest access to the Mogon NHR system will be provided to participants from German universities. Date: 2–4 November 2026 Time: 13:30–17:00 each day Format: Online via BigBlueButton Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of the command line and Slurm Eligibility: Exclusive to members of German academic institutions. The workshop is organized by NHR@SW. The instructors Julius Athenstaedt, Radita Liem, and Sarah Neuwirth are from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Register until 14 October 2026 at: https://indico.zdv.uni-mainz.de/event/206/ Please feel free to forward this announcement to interested colleagues.
