Computing at Los Alamos National Laboratory
The Information Sciences group at the Los Alamos National Laboratory
(LANL) has openings for researchers interested in parallel graph
algorithms, with an emphasis on high performance computing. The focus
will be on the theoretical and implementation aspects of parallel
graph algorithms on streaming architectures (GPUs, Cells and hybrid
platforms). This is part of a multi-year effort at LANL that aims to
maximize the potential of today's supercomputing architectures for
data intensive and unstructured problems (as opposed to the more
conventional physics-type applications)
Applications are being accepted at the the post-doctoral and graduate
student researcher levels. Candidates are expected to have a strong
background in graph theory and linear algebra, as well as some prior
experience with programming for streaming architectures such as the
GPU or Cell. Parallel programming experience in MPI will be a plus.
This is a long term appointment (one year or more), so candidates who
can commit to a longer time frame will be preferred.
Interested candidates should send their resumes including a brief
description of their research interests to sunil@lanl.gov, no later
than January 30 2011.
US citizenship is NOT required for this position.
