Description:
The wireless sensor networks are becoming a key technology for civilian, industrial, military and medical applications. While sensor devices are not a novelty (already exist in various control processes), their new wireless transmission capability makes them easier to deploy. Today, the main challenge in wireless sensor network is still the control of energy consumption. In this context, we are proposing this PhD subject entitled “wireless sensor network lifetime optimization”.
Most of the existing researches assume full covered monitored area and full connectivity between wireless sensor nodes. In this project, these constraints will be released in order to find a tradeoff between maximizing the network lifetime and a minimum coverage specific to the target application. This approach is mainly motivated by the lack of uniformity in real detection model. Moreover, wireless sensor nodes can be mobile (in vehicular networks for example) which makes it harder to provide full coverage.
