[DMANET] PhD position in Combinatorics at FU Berlin

Job opening: PhD position

The Combinatorics and Graph Theory team of the Department of
Mathematics and Computer Science at Freie Universität Berlin opens 1
PhD position in the context of the Marie Curie CIG - CountGraph
Project, haeaded by Jun. Prof. Juanjo Rué.

Profile of the candidate: to qualify for the position the candidate
should have a relevant degree (preferably a master's degree), e.g., in
mathematics, computer science or matematical physics, by the start of
the appointment. (S)he will carry out research at the intersection of
graph theory and enumerative combinatorics.

Environment: Freie Universität Berlin (with the motto "International
Network University") has been selected as one of the "Universities of
Excellence" of Germany. In 2006 an English language graduate program,
the Berlin Mathematical School (http://www.math-berlin.de/), was
established in cooperation with the other two research universities of
Berlin. Discrete Mathematics has a great tradition in the city and
enjoys a unique status with the Research Training Group "Methods for
Discrete Structures" (http://www.math.tu-berlin.de/MDS/) in place.

Appointment: the appointment is a PhD stipend with a salary around
1400 EUR/month (net salary). The holder would also have the
possibility to teach at FU Berlin. The holder will in addition benefit
from the project funds for e.g. conference participations and research
stays/visits. The applicant is expected to start his position in
October 2014 the latest. The extension of the position is at least 3
years.

Application: applicants are expected to have a Master in computer
science, mathematics or theoretical physics when the position starts.
