one Position (PostDoc or Phd) for 3 years
at the FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany, at the LG Theoretische Informatik
under supervision of Prof. André Schulz. The research focus of the group lies
in graph drawing, computational geometry, algorithms, graph theory and related areas.
The position is a full-time position with competitive salary (TV-L 13) depending on
the applicant's qualification. The 3-year contract comes with the possibility of an
extension for another 3 years. The position includes teaching duties such as designing
course material, grading assignments, supervising students (normal 4 SWS workload for
German universities). Therefore, it is desired that the candidate is in written and
verbal command of the German language. The starting date is negotiable but we are interested
in filling the position as soon as possible.
For a postdoc we expect that the candidate has (or is very close to) a PhD in Computer
Science or Mathematics and has a solid background in discrete math and algorithms.
Ideally, the applicant has knowledge and interest in at least one of the following fields:
- graph drawing
- computational geometry
- algorithms
- graph theory
- combinatorics
