Main tasks: Within the new DFG-funded project
"Collaborative Research Centre 1502: Regional Climate Change: Disentangling the Role of Land Use and Water Management"
you are part of project Z04. We are looking for a Postdoc researcher at University of Bonn enabling the
CRC through a variety of HPC-related tasks (ideally with the knowledge of algorithm engineering and
additional knowledge in Earth system modelling). You will work at the interface of Geoscience, Data Science, and HPC.
Description of Z04:
The key objects of the CRC rely heavily on numerical modeling, data processing, and analysis. Project Z04 will be responsible for: (i) Providing basic support for a multitude of HPC-related issues, (ii) helping with model development (iii) model simulation support (iv) training of early-career scientists at the interface of geoscience, HPC, and data science in collaboration with Z02 and Z03. Hence, Z04 will help the CRC to efficiently conduct its demanding numerical model and simulation experiments as well as processing and analysis tasks, in a big data context.

• Qualified Master with subsequent PhD degree
• Excellent command of English language
