*QUALIFICATIONS:*
An Ph.D. in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a
closely related field is required, with research interests in wireless
communications, computer networks, IoT, routing, databases,
algorithms, software
engineering, or ICT related disciplines.
Applicants in the late stage of doctoral studies will also be considered.
The selected candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and
postgraduate courses in Spanish; supervise theses; conduct high quality
research in collaboration with industry and government; publish in top
international journals, and participate in outreach activities.
A publication record in journals covered in Web of Science: Science
Citation Index Expanded (WoS: SCI-E) is expected. Relevant applied research
or industry experience is a plus. Applicants must have the ability to teach
computer science and software engineering related courses other than their
research focus. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate
education and teaching excellence. A willingness to collaborate with both
students and faculty, and to become involved in university service is
essential.
The successful candidate needs not be fluent in Spanish at the moment of
applying. Though he/she must have excellent oral and written communication
skills. In addition, the candidate must have demonstrated dedication to
undergraduate education; enthusiasm for professional engagement with
students in and out of the classroom; and ability to work in teams in a
collegial environment.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
1.
The primary responsibility will be to deliver undergraduate engineering
courses in a student-centered learning environment. The typical teaching
load is equivalent to two courses each semester.
2.
The research responsibility includes the application for national or
international grants with external funds, as well as publication of
articles in high level indexed journals (SCI-E in
https://mjl.clarivate.com/search-results).
3.
Applicants will also be expected to participate in scholarly activities.
