[DMANET] Ph.D. Position available: Development of new nowcasting and forecasting algorithms for Space Weather

One Ph.D. position is available at the University of Salento, Italy:

Development of new nowcasting and forecasting algorithms for Space Weather

DESCRIPTION: Study and modeling of ionospheric plasma dynamics and electron density irregularities on a global scale, to improve the capability of nowcasting and long-term forecasting of the ionospheric response to Space Weather events. The modeling approach is developed through innovative machine learning techniques as a strategy to extend the time horizon of ionospheric forecasting, a fundamental requirement to increase the knowledge of Space Weather phenomena in near-Earth space.
