[DMANET] Student Conference on Mathematical Foundations in Bioinformatics (MatBio) 2021

Dear All,

The Department of Informatics at King's College London annually organises a
student workshop, where students, postdocs and field experts present their
work in the field of Bioinformatics and related areas. This year, we are o
rganising the 5th Student Conference on Mathematical Foundations in Bioinfo
rmatics (MatBio), which will be taking place virtually via Microsoft Teams
on 15th September 2021.

We are accepting abstract submissions (to be presented at MatBio) from stud
ents/early career researchers here<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlo

We would like to invite you, or to encourage other researchers, who you think may be interested in this one-day conference, to register attendance here<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2FPkNwWQRLzLv8vaoP8&data=04%7C01%7Czara.lim%40kcl.ac.uk%7Cf9f67f996da049adfe6e08d95f2a63ae%7C8370cf1416f34c16b83c724071654356%7C0%7C0%7C637645457943817746%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=lbjjFVifZT7PZxlEO4hcl0uhESWe8PylpoYHbcC0GJs%3D&reserved=0><https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2Fe%2F1FAIpQLScqA1Gk7Iuy6YhcSztXubk5POZCK8DTiBe4zuWiOvFHQVbgAQ%2Fviewform&data=04%7C01%7Czara.lim%40kcl.ac.uk%7Cf9f67f996da049adfe6e08d95f2a63ae%7C8370cf1416f34c16b83c724071654356%7C0%7C0%7C637645457943817746%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=qX6Mgrwk%2Bwm8SXzwFhgir02hYsNaz%2Fk3M74YD4Ae85I%3D&reserved=0>.

The deadline to register abstracts and attendance for MatBio 2021 is 22nd
August 2021.

The aim of this conference is to encourage collaboration between early-stag
e researchers in the field and showcase applications of combinatorics, stat
istics and general mathematical principles to solving problems in bioinform
atics.

This year's keynote speakers include:

* Prof. Srinivas Aluru, Professor, School of Computational Science and
Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology
* Dr Katharina Huber, Associate Professor in Computational Biology, University of East Anglia
* Prof Sofia Kossida, Professor in Immunogenetics, Université de Montpellier; Director of the international ImMunoGeneTics information system (IMGT)
* Dr Leena Salmela, Academy Research Fellow, University of Helsinki

Each session of this one-day conference will feature an invited talk followed by oral presentations by students/early career researchers. Coffee breaks will provide the opportunity to network; dinner will take place at a local restaurant, for London based attendees.
