[DMANET] Call for Papers Special Issue of KJS

Call for Papers

Kuwait Journal of Science
Special Issue: New Trends of Operations Research and Applications

Since its emergence during the second world war, Operations Research has been key to problem-solving and decision-making. It has guided tactical, operational, and strategic decisions for governments, industries, banks, and private sectors and shaped policies for infrastructure, health care, transport, finance, manufacturing, telecommunication, among other sensitive areas. Its success, which emanates from the rigour of its exact methods and the efficacy of its approximate methods for scaled real life problems, has been further transformed by the availability of more powerful computing machines. This special issue covers advances in fundamental Operations Research problems, models, methodologies, and application domains, and highlights new directions of research.

We invite submissions of novel research articles for a forthcoming special issue of Kuwait Journal of Science on New Trends of Operations Research and Applications. This special issue is open to all high-quality research papers addressing theoretical as well as practical issues of emergent real-life applications of Operations Research, including compounded and combined problems.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to

Approximate and exact algorithms
Cutting plane algorithms
Computational complexity
Graph and network algorithms
Linear and nonlinear (mixed-) integer programming
Location and routing
Scheduling
Manufacturing
Supply chain management
Optimization and machine learning

Examples of applications
Telecommunication and Transportation, Scheduling, Logistics, Timetabling, Supply Chain Management, Portfolio Optimization, Covering and Packing, Data Mining, Lot-Sizing, Facility Location, Machine Learning, Renewable Energy, Sustainability, Healthcare service optimization, Risk Management, Resource allocation, Optimization in Social Networks, etc.

The deadline for submissions is July 15, 2025.
Manuscripts submitted after the deadline may not be considered for the special issue and may be transferred, if accepted, to a regular issue.

Please refer to the Guide for Authors to prepare your manuscript, and select the article type of VSI: OR trends & applications when submitting your manuscript online.
Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts electronically via the journal's online submission system. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure high quality and relevance of the published articles.
Both the Guide for Authors and the submission portal could be found on the Journal Homepage Kuwait Journal of Science ScienceDirect.com by Elsevier<https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/kuwait-journal-of-science>

Additional information about the special issue can be obtained from the Guest Editors.

We are looking forward to receiving your contribution.
