The School on the Practice and Theory of Distributed Computing (SPTDC) is a premier international forum on distributed computing, bringing together researchers, graduate students, and industry professionals interested in the theoretical foundations and practical design of modern concurrent systems. Since its inaugural edition in 2017, followed by highly successful editions in 2019, 2020, and 2023, SPTDC has established itself as a vibrant meeting point for the community. The school has consistently attracted distinguished researchers and pioneers in the field, including foundational contributors, recipients of the Turing Award, the Dijkstra Prize, and the Gödel Prize, as well as leading experts from industry.
We are pleased to announce SPTDC 2026, which aspires to continue this tradition of excellence. The 2026 edition will provide an inspiring forum for students, engineers, and researchers from academia and industry to exchange ideas and explore frontier topics shaping concurrent and distributed computation, including formal methods for blockchain, distributed learning, distributed graph processing, cybersecurity, and many more.
