[DMANET] Assistant Professorship in Optimization, Charles University in Prague

Applications are invited for a 3-year position as Assistant Professor
in Optimization at the Department of Applied Mathematics, Faculty of
Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic,
with the possibility of renewal and shift to tenure track.

Candidates should have a PhD in (Applied) Mathematics, Computer Science or
Operations Research, and demonstrate potential for excellence in research.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research related to
combinatorial optimization and mathematical programming, mathematical
modeling and simulations, approximation algorithms, on-line algorithms, or
heuristic methods for large scale optimization problems.

The applicant should have some teaching experience. The successful
applicant will teach in English (or in English and in Czech if the
successful applicant speaks Czech).

Desirable are a previous postdoc in optimization and strong background in
graph theory and combinatorial optimization, experience in applied
research, and excellent programming skills.
