student or a postdoctoral researcher working in market design led by
Prof. Martin Bichler (http://dss.in.tum.de).
Market design uses mathematical optimization, economic theory, and
experiments to design market rules and institutions. Fundamentally,
market design asks how the design of the rules and regulations of a
market affects the functioning and outcomes of that market. Examples
involve the design of spectrum auction markets, procurement, and
logistics markets. A focus of this position will be the design of
digital advertising exchanges and related bidding strategies.
Applicants for the PhD position should hold a Master's degree in
computer science, operations research, mathematics, or economics.
Applicants for the post-doc position should hold a PhD degree in one of
these disciplines.
Prospective candidates will assist in teaching courses of the group (see
http://dss.in.tum.de). Salary (for both PhD students and post-docs) is
according to German tariff E13 and will be around 45k Euro per year.
Applications should be submitted by email to bichler@in.tum.de.
Please enclose a curriculum vitae including a complete list of
publications and a sample publication (e.g., a Master's thesis).
The submission deadline is January 6, 2016.
