(Resent due to a mistake in the ending date of positions)
Applications are invited for two PH. D. scholarships and one postdoc position at the Freie
Universität Berlin. Successful candidates will be part of Francisco Santos' Einstein
Group, funded by the Einstein Foundation, and will benefit from the interaction
with FU's Discrete Geometry Group (http://www.mi.fu-berlin.de/en/math/groups/discgeom)
plus the thriving ambience of Berlin's Discrete Math landscape. Research topics include
the combinatorics of polytopes and simplicial and cell complexes, as well as enumerative
questions about lattice polytopes.
The positions are for the period April 2016 to March 2019 (up to three years). Although later
starting dates are possible, extensions are not. Interested candidates should apply by email to
Francisco Santos (francisco.santos@unican.es) with cc to elke.pose@fu-berlin.de, including
a CV, research statement, and one or two letters of recommendation, preferably by February 5.
