[DMANET] possible offer of a PhD position in tropical geometry

Dear friends and colleagues,

We anticipate a possibility to offer one PhD position in TROPICAL GEOMETRY
at the Department of Mathematics of the Technical University of Berlin.

This would be funded by the Einstein Foundation Berlin, and the expected
start date is around October 1, 2017. The project would be mentored by the
two of us, and it would focus on topics in tropical geometry that have a
computational and combinatorial bend. For a sample of possible directions
see the themes at the workshop that takes place on May 11-12 in Berlin:
https://www.math.bgu.ac.il/~reny/ComputingInTropicalGeometry.html

We are looking forward to hearing from interested candidates. Please send
an informal application to Antje Schulz at aschulz@math.tu-berlin.de

Michael Joswig and Bernd Sturmfels
