department of ESSEC Business School opens a Post-Doc position of 12
months in Operations Research for its Paris-Cergy campus, starting
between November 2017 and January. The IDS Department is composed of 15
professors. Operations Research is a core topic of the OMOR (Operations
Research-Operations Management) research cluster at ESSEC (see
operations-management-research.essec.edu).
ESSEC is a major European Business School, a French "Grande Ecole" with
three campuses, one in the Paris metropolitan area (Cergy), one in
Singapore and one in Morocco. It offers graduate level training in
business administration (MSc, MBA, Executive MBA, Specialized Masters,
PhD). Its Master in Management (MiM) program was ranked #5 worldwide in
the last Financial Times ranking.
We are searching for a candidate with a research profile in Mathematical
Programming and Combinatorial Optimization, with a strong emphasis on
designing efficient exact methods. Research can be related to (but is
not restricted to) applications in: Network Design, Facility Location,
Routing, Transportation, Production Planning… To be considered,
candidates should hold a Ph.D. or doctorate in Operations Research or a
related discipline, and show evidence of excellence in research by
publications in top-tier journals.
The Post doctorate is required to be in residence for the duration of
the appointment and work at the ESSEC Cergy campus. The candidate
should be fluent in English, autonomous in writing high-quality research
papers, and ready to collaborate with the OR professors of the IDS
Department on a common research project to be defined. He/she will be
also asked to disseminate the research results in OR Conferences and
Journals. The application should include (1) an application letter
/research statement, (2) a detailed resume including the list of
publications and the PhD thesis, (3) a job market paper, and (4) two
