available in the Predictive Medicine and Data Analytics Lab headed by
Prof Frank Emmert-Streib.
The position is funded for three years (1 + 2 years) in the area of data
science.
Requirements:
· MSc in Computer Science or related field
· Very good grades
· good understanding of machine learning and/or statistics
· very good programming skills (if possible in R)
· very good presentation skills
· excellent communication skills in English
· self-motivated
· attentive to details
Project:
The project will develop new methodology for prostate cancer by
combining methods from text mining and network analysis. For this we
will use existing data to extract meaningful information.
The position requires to give some lectures in machine learning to
students (5% of total time).
