[DMANET] Professorship (W1 tenure-track to W3) in Hamburg on Theoretical Computer Science

PROFESSORSHIP (W1 TENURE-TRACK TO W3) IN THEORETICAL COMPUTER SCIENCE AT
HAMBURG UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (TUHH)

<https://tuhh.de>) in Hamburg, Germany seeks applications for a
professorship in Theoretical Computer Science.

The successful candidate is expected to represent Theoretical Computer
Science in research and teaching at TUHH. Qualified applicants are
expected to have an excellent track record in
fundamental research as well as a strong interest in interdisciplinary
collaboration with engineering work groups at TUHH. TUHH particularly
welcomes applications from scientists with a research focus including
but not necessarily limited to one or more of the following:
* Logic and computability
* Models and algorithms for new computing architectures (cloud,
in-memory, fine-grained complexity and others)
* Model theory and game theory in verification
* Algorithmic foundations of quantum computing
* Computational models and theory for cyber-physical systems
The position starts as junior professorship (W1), with a tenure track to
full professorship (W3). While the position focuses on fundamental
research, TUHH expects that candidates demonstrate an interest in
applying their findings in engineering areas and collaborate with
related research institutes at TUHH and its partners in the region. As
Professor for Theoretical Computer Science, the successful candidate is
expected to other courses in computer science, engineering computer
science, data science and related degree programmes, both at the
undergraduate and graduate level, and to engage in the further
development of the curricula offered by TUHH.

This professorship is funded by the Joint Federal Government-Länder
Tenure Track Programme ("Bund-Laender-Programm zur Foerderung des
wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses"). The appointment is due to commence in
the 2021/22 winter term. The initial appointment will be for three
years, with the possibility of renewal for a further three years after a
positive interim evaluation. Following another positive evaluation in
the final year, the candidate will be tenured at the professorial level
(W3).
