invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in Computer
Science to begin July 1, 2023. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer
Science or a related field in hand by the time of appointment to be hired
as an Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as an
Instructor if the candidate does not have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of
appointment, but will complete the Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related
field within one year of hire. We encourage candidates in all areas of
Computer Science to apply, including those who deepen or broaden our
existing research strengths, and especially encourage candidates who can
contribute to the diversity (broadly conceived) of the department. Theory,
programming languages, algorithms, network science, networking, and privacy
and security are well-represented in the department.
Duties include conducting an independent program of research, teaching,
advising and mentoring students, and participating in faculty governance at
the departmental and university level. Tenure track faculty in Computer
Science at Wesleyan teach three courses per year. Wesleyan values both
