*The Project*
The OπTIME project (Predictive optimization for transport planning of
multi-energy heavy goods vehicles) at Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE) is
seeking an innovative post-doctoral researcher for a one-year appointment
to drive forward sustainable transportation solutions.
*Your Role*
You will be at the forefront of developing pioneering solutions for
optimizing transport operations using mixed-energy vehicle fleets (diesel,
CNG, hybrid, electric). In an era of energy transition, you will tackle the
complex challenge of optimal vehicle-to-mission assignment, integrating:
- Advanced predictive models for energy consumption
- Cutting-edge optimization algorithms
- Innovative transport planning solutions
Your work will directly impact the reduction of both operational costs and
carbon footprint in the transportation sector.
*Research Environment*
- Host Institution: eMob Lab (Energy & Mobility Lab) at UGE's Lyon
Campus (Lyon, France)
- Supervision: Joint supervision by Prof. Nour-Eddin El Faouzi (UGE) and
Prof. David Rey (SKEMA Business School)
- Start Date: Spring 2025 (flexible based on candidate availability)
- Duration: 12 months
*Your Profile*
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or
Mathematics
- Strong programming skills and data science expertise
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in transportation and logistics (advantageous but not
mandatory)
- Working knowledge of French (appreciated)
- Publication record in relevant fields
