[DMANET] CfP: Special issue on Advances in Discrete Optimization (selected papers presented in BALCOR 2011)

CALL FOR PAPERS

(apologies for multiply received copies)

**Special Issue of Optimization. A Journal of Mathematical Programming and
Operations Research **

Published by Taylor & Francis

**Subject: Advances in Discrete Optimization**

At the occasion of the 1st International Symposium and 10th Balkan
Conference on Operational Research, BALCOR 2011, September 22-25, 2011,
Thessaloniki, Greece (http://balcor.uom.gr) the journal "Optimization"
invites submissions of papers to a special issue on theoretical,
methodological, or applied aspects of Discrete Optimization problems. The
call-for-papers addresses the recently growing research interest in discrete
optimization problems. The objective of this special issue of "Optimization"
is to present recent advances in the following areas of discrete
optimization, (but not limited to):

- linear and integer programming,

- network optimization

- discrete optimization in economics

- discrete optimization in engineering

- inverse optimization problems

- combinatorial optimization in bioinformatics

- computational complexity of discrete optimization problems

Optimization is abstracted and Indexed in: Astrophysics Data System;
SciBase; British Library Inside; Cambridge Scientific Abstracts; EBSCO
Databases; ISI Current Contents - Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences;
Mathematical Reviews/MathSciNet; New Jour; Science Citation Index Expanded;
Zentralblatt MATH/Mathematics Abstracts and Zetoc.

Selected extended-abstracts presented in the 1st International Symposium and
10th Balkan Conference on Operational Research (BALCOR 2011) will be
considered as potential full-paper publications in this special issue
subject to peer reviews. Submitted papers should not have been previously
published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Submitted paper will be refereed with the same standards as leading
international journals. The main criteria for acceptance are the quality and
originality of the contribution, and its relevance to the topics of BALCOR
2011.
