At the "Institut für Mathematische Optimierung" of the
"Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Fakultät" of the "Technische Universität
Carolo-Wilhelmina zu Braunschweig" the vacant position of a

Full Professor (W3) in Mathematical Optimization

may immediately be filled.

The successful candidate should be internationally recognized for his/her
research in an area supporting and expanding the current research topics of
the Department of Mathematics. Recent research in continuous nonlinear
optimization with close connection to applications is particularly welcome.
Experience with carrying out third-party projects (German Research
Foundation, European Union, German Federal Ministery of Education and
Science) is indispensable. The TU Braunschweig (TUBS) attaches importance to
excellent teaching. Responsibilities encompass lecturing in the bachelor and
master degree programs "Mathematics" and "Mathematics in Finance and
Industry" with focus on mathematical optimization as well as adequate
participation in teaching mathematics for students of other disciplines.

The TUBS was founded in 1745 and currently takes care of more than 14,000
students. The core disciplines Engineering and Natural Sciences are closely
connected to Economics, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. The TUBS
is a member university of the „Niedersächsische Technische Hochschule
(NTH)". Therefore, the vacant professorship is assigned to the NTH.
Readiness for interdisciplinary cooperation in research and teaching, in
particular within the scope of the NTH is expected of the future colleague.

The formal employment requirements are based on § 25 of the NHG
(Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz / University Act of Lower Saxony).
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, habilitation or equivalent
qualification, and provide evidence of their teaching experience and
ability. Job sharing possibilities are optional.
