[DMANET] Postdoctoral position in Distributed Computing at Bordeaux University

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING

UNIVERSITE DE BORDEAUX, FRANCE

The "Distributed Algorithms" group of Bordeaux Computer Science
laboratory LaBRI (CNRS & Université de Bordeaux) offers a postdoctoral
position in Distributed Computing. The position is supported by the
research project DISPLEXITY (DIStributed Computing: Computability and
ComPLEXITY) funded by the French Science Foundation (ANR). The main
goal of DISPLEXITY is to establish the scientific foundations for
building up a consistent theory of computability and complexity for
distributed computing. For more details on the "Distributed
Algorithms" group and on the ANR project:

Candidates must hold (at the start of the contract) a computer science
or mathematics Ph.D. degree and must have a solid research experience
in some of the following topics:

- distributed algorithms and data structures
- communication complexity
- complexity theory
- information dissemination
- mobile agent computing
- models of communication and computation
- graph algorithms
- concurrent programming, synchronization, shared and transactional memory
- fault tolerance, reliability, availability
- self-stabilizing, self-organizing, and autonomic systems

Knowledge of French is not required, but good communication skills and
a solid knowledge of English are essential.

Duration: between 12 and 18 months
Starting date: between September 2013 and April 2014
Submission deadline: April 15, 2013

Applications must be sent by e-mail (with a single PDF attachment) to

displexity.postdoc2013@labri.fr

and must include:
- a cover letter highlighting the reasons for applying;
- a detailed CV;
- a complete list of publications;
- a (maximum 2-page) summary of past research.

Applicants must also arrange to have at least two letters of reference
