[DMANET] [jobs] Postdoctoral research position(s) at the Nanyang Technological University

Two short-term post-doctoral positions are available at the School of
Computer Science and Engineering of the Nanyang Technological University
based on two distinct MOE Tier-1 (seed) grands.

Position-1:
~~~~~~~~~~~
Start date: immediate
Duration: 6 months (extendable to 10 months)
Keywords: security games, social choice, game theory, voting
The context for the position is a Tier-1 project "Securing Expression of
Opinion". The overall aim of the project is to develop a new game-theoretic
approach to prevent falsification of election results. The approach is
based on a model that combines recent advances in security games when
applied to features of an underlying voting process.
Specifically, the aim of this post will be to contribute to one or more of
the following:
(i) assist in theoretical analysis of the formal secured voting model,
identify domain sub-classes with distinct features wrt computational
complexity and manipulability
(ii) develop an experimental test-bed for the approach with an outlook to
incorporate and study real-world human behaviour patterns
(iii) study other social choice processes for the possibility to apply the
secured model
SingEO"
Position-2:
~~~~~~~~~~~

Start date: immediate
Duration: 6 months (extendable to 10 months)
Keywords: distributed constraint optimisation, information theory

The context for the position is a Tier-1 project "Mixed Initiative DCOPs".
The overall aim of the project is to study the effects of heterogeneous
computational and communication capabilities of nodes that partake in the
execution of a distributed constraint optimisation algorithm.

Specifically, the aim of this post will be to contribute to one or more of
the following:

(i) assist in the information theoretic analysis of existing DCOP algorithms
(ii) develop efficient means to augment DCOP algorithms to counteract
computational and communication restrictions
(iii) develop an experimental test-bed for the approach with an outlook to
incorporate and study real-world human behaviour patterns
