[DMANET] 2 PhD positions in Amsterdam (KdVI at UvA)

(Please forward to anybody you know looking for a PhD position.)

Would you like to do a PhD in combinatorics and its applications in a
world-class research program with a collegial group of colleagues?

The Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics at the University of
Amsterdam is excited to offer two new PhD positions. One is in algebraic
graph theory, particularly the eigenvalues of graphs and applications to
quantum information theory, and will be advised by Krystal Guo. The other
involves graph and matroid polynomials with applications in statistical
mechanics and DNA self-assembly, and will be advised by Jo Ellis-Monaghan.
The combinatorics group at KdVI also includes Guus Regts and Viresh Patel,
plus a number of other students and postdocs. You will also have the
opportunity to interact with other organizations at the University of
Amsterdam, including NETWORKS
https://kdvi.uva.nl/research/partnerships--collaborations/networks/networks.html
and Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica https://www.cwi.nl/. Amsterdam is a
wonderful city for both working and living:
