[DMANET] Deadline Extension | Abstract Submission Deadline for Symposium on Mathematics in Sciences, Engineering and Economics is 30th June 2023

Dear Mathematical Scientists, Dear Application Scientists from Sciences, Engineering and Economics,

The abstract submission deadline for the MathSEE Symposium has been extended until the 30th of June. Kindly register and submit your abstracts soon.

KIT Center MathSEE is one of 9 interdisciplinary research centers at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), engaging in frontier research on the applications of mathematical methods in the sciences, engineering and economics. The center is organising its first in-person symposium at KIT in Karlsruhe, Germany, from Sep. 27 – 29th 2023. Besides several plenary lectures, contributed talks and a poster session, the symposium will feature a panel discussion on the topic of "Interdisciplinary mathematical research: opportunities and challenges".

It is possible to submit abstracts for oral (20 minutes duration) as well as poster presentations on applications of the following mathematical methods:

* Mathematical structures: Shapes, Geometry, Number Theory and Algebra
* Mathematical Modeling, Differential Equations, Numerics and Simulation
* Inverse problems and Optimization

* Stochastic Modeling, Statistical Data Analysis and Forecasting

Focusing on the "Inverse Problems and Optimization" track, the list of topics includes (but is not limited to):

- Linear / (mixed-)integer / non-linear / stochastic programming

- Multi-objective / constraint-based programming

- Heuristic-based / evolutionary-based optimization

- Sensitivity analysis

- Fuzzy logic

- Neural networks

- Optimisation of machine learning paradigms

- Iterative methods for inverse problems

- Functional analysis

- Tomography problems

There will be a best poster award, accompanied by a prize of 500 EURO.

Participation in the symposium is free of charge this time and we hope many participants will avail of this opportunity.
