goal to be extended) for the prospective project HOTSTEEL:
In collaboration with TU Berlin and industry partners JCMwave and PSI
SE, the goal of HOTSTEEL is the integrated optimization of production
schedules in a real-world steel plant aimed at reducing energy
consumption. Research topics will include the design, implementation,
and analysis of exact and heuristic algorithms for challenging
mixed-integer programming models with a nonlinear objective function
approximated by machine learning and the efficient utilization of GPU
hardware.
