=========
Submission
=========

We invite authors to submit extended abstracts of their original
research. Submissions must be formatted in LaTeX using a supplied class
file, and not be longer than 175 lines of text. Submissions will be
handled through EasyChair
<https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=eurocg2022>.

Authors must use the LaTeX class files eurocg22
<https://eurocg2022.unipg.it/latex/eurocg22.cls> and eurocg22-submission
<https://eurocg2022.unipg.it/latex/eurocg22-submission.cls>, which are
based on the LIPICS class file. These class files should automatically
count all lines containing text, excluding title and references, and
excluding figures. Authors are expected to make reasonable effort to
make sure all lines that contain text are counted: the class file should
be considered an aid, and the responsibility of correctly counting lines
remains with the authors. A zip file containing an example of how to use
the class file can be found here
<https://eurocg2022.unipg.it/latex/eurocg22-ex.zip>.

Your submission should provide a clear statement of your results
including proofs. The main (175 line) body of your submission should be
self-contained and contain a clear and succinct description of your
results. Content that does not fit in the main body due to space
restrictions must be placed into a clearly marked appendix, which will
only be read at the discretion of the program committee.

==============
Acceptance Policy
==============

EuroCG is a non-competitive forum.  We will accept all submissions which
are original, correct, well-presented, non-trivial, and in scope. The
program committee judges submissions on these five criteria, each of
which can lead to rejection. If a submission satisfies all criteria,
then it will be accepted: there is no competition against other submissions.

- Originality: If a submission does not contain original research by the
authors, or if there is good reason to believe this is the case, this is
a reason for rejection. We do not accept submissions which have already
been accepted for publication elsewhere. However, we do explicitly allow
submissions that are under review at another conference or journal (at
the time of submission to EuroCG).
- Correctness. If the main / a major result of a submission is not
correct, this is a reason for rejection. If an attentive reviewer cannot
establish correctness of the results from the content of the submission,
this is a reason for rejection. However, an acceptance at EuroCG is no
correctness guarantee.
- Presentation. If a submission is written in a way that makes it
unreadable, or it does not follow the submission guidelines as listed in
the call for contributions, this is a reason for rejection.
- Technical Depth. If a submission is trivial, this is a reason for
rejection. However, there is no "minimum level" of technical depth required.
- Scope. If a submission is out of scope, this is a reason for
rejection. However, we wish to be inclusive in our interpretation of
scope, which includes but is not limited to the list of topics in the
call for contributions.

==========
Proceedings
==========

EuroCG does not have formally reviewed proceedings. A booklet of
abstracts, without ISBN, will be accessible online on the website for
the benefit of the community and must be regarded as a collection of
preprints rather than a formally reviewed selection of papers. Results
presented at EuroCG are expected to appear in other conferences with
formal proceedings and/or in journals. In particular, papers that have
been submitted to other formally reviewed conferences are eligible for
presentation at EuroCG, assuming they have not been presented at a
conference or published in a journal by the time of the conference.
Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended versions
to a special issue of the Computational Geometry: Theory and
Applications journal.

Authors of accepted submissions are expected to present their work at
the conference (either in-person or online). Failure to do so may result
in removal of the contribution from the abstract booklet and conference
website.

ABOUT PARSOCIAL
Computational methods to represent, model and analyze problems using social
information have come a long way in the last decade. Computational methods,
such as social network analysis, have provided exciting insights into how
social information can be utilized to better understand social processes,
and model the evolution of social systems over time. We have also seen a
rapid proliferation of sensor technologies, such as smartphones and medical
sensors, for collecting a wide variety of social data, much of it in real
time. Meanwhile, the emergence of parallel architectures, in the form of
multi-core/many-core processors, and distributed platforms have provided
new approaches for large-scale modeling and simulation, and new tools for
analysis. These two trends have dramatically broadened the scope of
computational social systems research, and are enabling researchers to
tackle new challenges. These challenges include modeling of real world
scenarios with dynamic and real-time data, and formulating rigorous
computational frameworks to embed social and behavioral theories while
taking into account ramifications in relation to policy, ethics, privacy
and other areas. This workshop provides a platform to bring together
interdisciplinary researchers from areas, such as computer science, social
sciences, applied mathematics and engineering, to showcase innovative
research in computational social systems that leverage the emerging trends
in parallel and distributed processing, computational modeling, and high
performance computing.

The papers selected for ParSocial will be published in the workshop
proceedings. Proceedings of the workshops are distributed at the conference
and are submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library after
the conference. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper must
register as a participant of the workshop and present the paper at the
workshop.

TOPICS
*Special Session: Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Techniques for
Pandemics*
This year we are inviting papers for a special session on topics in
computational social systems that tackle the issues related to pandemics,
with a focus on COVID 19. COVID 19 has revealed shortcomings in modeling
and simulation techniques for a fast moving, global pandemic which can
provide time bounded analysis and predictions. The need of the hour is a
new set of cutting edge l techniques that go beyond predicting the spread
of the contagion and also analyze and predict the concomitant effects on
societies including social, economic, heath, political and other effects.
COVID 19 has also revealed vulnerabilities in existing infrastructure and
the need to overcome these vulnerabilities in multiple areas including
health policies, transportation, community wellness, economic vitality,
race relations, and political leaning. This pandemic has also been unique
as the large amount of data and information available for researchers, has
required many to turn to parallel and distributed processing methodologies
and techniques. ParSocial, as such, can provide a platform for researchers
grappling with these research questions to present their work. Topics
include, but are not limited to:

**Dynamics of infection/reinfection
**Outbreak emergency management and resource allocation
**Resilience of various infrastructure including health infrastructure
**Economic behavior and decision making
**Health disparities and response to pandemics
**Evolution of Health policy during pandemics
**Economic epidemiology
**Nutrition security

***Social network-based models
***Models of social interactions and network dynamism (e.g., influence
spread, group formation, group stability, and social resilience)
***Complex Adaptive System (CAS) models (e.g., modeling emergence in social
systems)
***Models incorporating socio-cultural factors
***Novel agent based social modeling and simulation
***Modeling with uncertain, incomplete, and real-time social data
***Representations of social and behavioral theories in computational models
***Simulation methodologies for social processes including numerical and
statistical methods

[DMANET] (Senior) Applied/Research Scientist Opportunities at Amazon (Luxembourg, Berlin, Barcelona)

Happy 2022 everyone!

Are you looking for a new challenge or opportunity for the new year?

Our Amazon science team with focus on optimization for sustainability (i.e. the middle-mile logistics part of Amazon's climate pledge) and transportation is expanding in Luxembourg, Barcelona and Berlin!
You will be joining a quickly growing multi-national research team that tackles challenging problems related to logistics and sustainability on a world wide scale. Our team is in the fast growing Amazon EU headquarters in Luxembourg City, which has more than 3000 employees already, and we are now expanding in Berlin and Barcelona as well.
Luxembourg is a small country in the heart of Europe with a very international population and excellent public health care and social security, free public transport and very low crime. It is well connected to all the major European cities. Luxembourg has three official languages (Luxembourgish, French, German) and English is widely spoken as well.

Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status.

We are very willing to sponsor visas!

Find below links to 4 scientist/senior scientist openings, 11 intern positions, and 2 opportunities for visiting professors. If you are interested please apply directly; for the visiting professor positions or if you have quick questions, feel free to reach out to me.

[1x senior scientist] https://lnkd.in/eDyNDk_3
[3x
scientist] https://lnkd.in/eDkAKR8f
[11x
science intern] https://lnkd.in/esKTGrw4
[2x
visiting professor] https://lnkd.in/eCmV37fV
https://lnkd.in/ew4BY2Fp

What do we offer? Our team owns a crucial part to Amazon's efforts to decarbonize its middle-mile logistics for Amazon's Climate Pledge, design a speedy supply chain for next-day delivery and streamline its operational plans (connections, routes, deadlines, schedules, forecasts, etc). We encounter the challenging algorithmic decision problems you could imagine in terms of computational complexity, uncertainty and system interactions, at sizes where literature techniques fail. In order to address them, we research solutions powered by mathematical techniques, a sea of data, abundance of AWS compute resources and a big share of inspiration from our scientists. We collaborate at worldwide scale within Amazon and focus exclusively on high-impact problems, that affect Amazon's customer experience, our society, and may incur multimillion EURO annual entitlements on the company's bottomline. As a result, you will be exposed to a fast-paced innovation-pro environment, where mistakes are welcomed, and where complex time/quality efficiency/complexity tradeoffs are essential for a successful result.

What are we looking for? We look for generalists with curiosity and passion for building solutions. People who are successful in our team have strong math background in a topic related to optimization and/or machine learning, roll-up the sleeves to code solutions, and can communicate precisely.

Best regards,
Martin Gross

[DMANET] Postdoctoral Positions in Computer Science, University of Southern Denmark

POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

Several two-year postdoc positions, with possibility of extension, are
available in the research group of Algorithmic Cheminformatics at the
University of Southern Denmark (SDU). The positions are in an exciting
six-year project supported by the Challenge Programme of the Novo
Nordisk Foundation: "Mathematical Modelling for Microbial Community
Induced Metabolic Diseases", led by Professor Daniel Merkle. The
starting date is 1 March 2022 or as soon thereafter as possible for
the applicant. Application deadline: 20 January 2022.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a PhD in computer
science, computational chemistry / biochemistry, applied mathematics,
or related areas. The ideal candidate has familiarity with several of
the following areas: algorithmics, mathematical modelling, graph
transformation, algorithm engineering. Applications of these areas to
systems chemistry, systems biology, metabolic networks, or microbial
communities is an advantage, but not a must. Solid competences in
programming and ease with formal thinking are prerequisites.

The project is based on the novel application of formalisms,
algorithms, and computational methods from computer science to the
design of microbial communities, for use in health science. We aim to
expand these methods and their formal foundations, create efficient
algorithms and implementations of them, and use these implementations
for research in understanding the functionality and stability of
intestinal microbial communities. See the MATOMIC website
(https://www.sdu.dk/en/forskning/matomic/about) for more details.

The research group in Algorithmic Cheminformatics at the Department of
Mathematics and Computer Science at SDU offers a dynamic research
environment, comprising two full professors, an associate professor,
and several postdocs and students. The project includes strong
partnerships with the University of Leipzig (Bioinformatics, Professor
Peter Stadler), the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research in
Leipzig (Molecular Systems Biology, Professor Martin von Bergen) and
the University of Vienna (Department of Theoretical Chemistry,
Professor Christoph Flamm), who may potentially host the postdoctoral
researcher for extended visits.

The research group is located at the main campus of SDU, which is
located in Odense, the third largest city in Denmark. Denmark is known
for its high standards of living, free health care, and competitive
salaries. Applicants from outside Denmark are eligible for substantial
tax reductions.

------------------------------------------------------------

It is with great pleasure to welcome you to CIoT'22.

CIoT provides a high-quality international academic and industrial exchange
forum for experts and scholars in the field of intelligent systems, cloud
computing and Internet of Things.

The conference will be designed and prepared as an in person event.
However, in the case of perduring traveling restrictions (official or de
facto) during the conference dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be
ready to convert the conference to a fully on-line event.

We hope the conditions will allow for in-person participation, so we can
enjoy face-to-face discussions and coffee breaks again. It would also give
the opportunity to participants to visit the beautiful city of Marrakech.

CIoT'22 is a conference focusing on the challenges of managing Internet of
Things applications while considering the whole end-to-end architecture
over the sixth generation of mobile networks (6G) and next-generation data
center networking from cloud to the edge and IoT devices. The next
generation of telecommunication networks is expected to support a growing
number of smart terminals, such as cell phones, sensors and other connected
objects, to provide real-time applications and to provide intelligence and
trust embedded in network infrastructure. To meet these requirements, the
6G envisions the use of artificial intelligence, cloud and edge computing.
The 6G network will absorb the billions of flows generated by things while
considering the requested QoS and the cohabitation of M2M, M2H and H2M
flows. Then, the flows will be processed in data centers and applications
will exploit the extracted knowledge.

The main objective of CIoT'22 is to address challenges of clouds and IoT
systems from the sensors/machines to the end-users attached to the Cloud
while considering the 6G network connecting both IoT and Cloud domains.

Authors are invited to submit original contributions that have not been
published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Papers should be prepared
using the IEEE 2-column conference style and are limited to 8 pages (full
papers). They have to be submitted electronically in PDF format. Papers
exceeding page limits, multiple submissions, and self-plagiarized papers
will be rejected without further review. All other papers will sustain a
thorough single-blind review process.

CIoT'22 will also hold an industrial track. The industrial track gathers
scholars and industrial participants to highlight practical and real-world
studies and applications of cloud and IoT technologies. This track aims to
foster cooperation between participants engaged in scientific research and
practitioners working to improve the development of new cloud and IoT
applications. Each submission should describe the problem addressed, the
approach used, the current state of the project, an evaluation of the
benefits or lessons learned, and future developments. Industrial track
submissions are extended abstracts of 2 pages.

All submissions must be written in English and must use standard IEEE
two-column conference template, available for download from the IEEE
website: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html

Only PDF files will be accepted for the review process and all submissions
must be done electronically through EDAS using the following link:
https://edas.info/N28114

The technical papers presented at the conference will be invited to submit
an extended version in the Special Issue "Electronics for Agriculture",
MDPI Journal
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/electronics/special_issues/eagriculture_electronics

Best papers will be considered for fast-track publication in a special
issue of Annals of Telecommunications (Springer, ISI-indexed)

Wishing you a Happy New Year 2022!

The aim of the IFORS ( International Federation of Operational Research Societies) Developing Countries Online Resources page is to offer the OR worker all publicly-available materials on the topic of OR for Development. It also aims to provide a venue for people who are working in the area to share their completed or in-process work, learn from others, and stimulate comments and discussions on the work. Regarding IFORS Developing Countries OR resources website, its regular updates - and your possible submission of "free" (not copyright protected) material, you might occasionally visit

[ http://ifors.org/developing_countries/index.php?title=Main_Page | http://ifors.org/developing_countries/index.php?title=Main_Page ]

With this open resources page we aim to make research and application results better accessible to the many friends in the Developing Countries (DCs). We would be glad about interest.

Contributions from art and science, communication and education sectors are warmly welcome by our community which has very little access to emerging documents on arts and sciences, research, design and development.

The International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS; http://ifors.org/) is an almost 60-year old organization which is currently composed of 51 national societies. Regional Groups of IFORS are: ALIO (The Latin American Ibero Association on Operations Research), APORS (The Association of Asian-Pacific Operational Research Societies), EURO (The Association of European Operational Research Societies), NORAM (The Association of North American Operations Research Societies). IFORS conferences are taking place every three years. On successfully celebrated IFORS 2021, Seoul, South Korea, August 22-27, 2021, please refer to http://www.ifors2020.kr/.
