[DMANET] PhD position at the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne / Vehicle routing for city logistics

A PhD position is available at the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne
(France) within the research project

" Mutualization and Optimization of Urban Freights Distribution "

funded by the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR).

The research pursued by the PhD student will concern the development of
new models and original solution methods for the optimization of
distribution routes in the context of city logistics.

The PhD student will be located in Gardanne (south of France, near
Marseille) in the research group "Manufacturing Sciences and Logistics"
of the Georges Charpak Microelectronics Centre of Provence (Ecole des
Mines de Saint-Etienne).

The position is for three years starting October 1, 2010 (exact date is
negotiable).

Applicants must have a Master Degree (or equivalent) in Computer
Sciences, Applied Mathematics or any related discipline. Applicants
should demonstrate good programming skills and a deep knowledge in
combinatorial optimization and integer programming. Experience on the
development of solution methods for vehicle routing problems would be
appreciated.
