[DMANET] Full Professorship (W3) for Applied Discrete Mathematics at Goethe University Frankfurt

An der Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universitaet Frankfurt am Main ist am
Institut fuer Mathematik des Fachbereichs Informatik und Mathematik zum
01. Oktober 2011 folgende Stelle im Beamten- bzw. aequivalent im
Angestelltenverhaeltnis zu besetzen:

Professur (W3) fuer Angewandte Diskrete Mathematik

Gesucht wird eine Persoenlichkeit mit einem breiten Forschungsprofil, die
auf einem aktuellen Gebiet der angewandten diskreten Mathematik (z.B. im
Bereich computerorientierte diskrete Mathematik, kombinatorische
Optimierung, mathematische Kryptographie oder mathematische Grundlagen der
Informatik) besonders ausgewiesen ist. Von dem/der zukuenftigen
Stelleninhaber/in werden Erfahrungen in der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln
ebenso erwartet wie die Bereitschaft zur Zusammenarbeit mit bestehenden
Arbeitsgruppen der Mathematik und Informatik. Zu den Aufgaben der
Professur zaehlt die Beteiligung an den vom Fachbereich angebotenen
Lehrveranstaltungen.

The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, Department of
Mathematics, at the Goethe University Frankfurt invites applications to
fill the position of a

Full Professorship (W3) for Applied Discrete Mathematics

starting on October 1st, 2011. We are seeking a candidate widely
recognized for excellent research in an active field of applied discrete
mathematics (e.g. in computer-oriented discrete mathematics, combinatorial
optimization, mathematical cryptography or mathematical foundations of
computer science). The successful applicant is expected to cooperate with
the existing research groups in mathematics and computer science, and
he/she will be actively involved in the teaching tasks of the department.
He/She is also expected to strengthen the department through the acquisition
of third-party support.

It is the responsibility of this professorship to participate in all areas
of teaching offered by the Department.

The designated salary for the position is based on .W3. on the German
