[DMANET] Two postdoc positions in Warwick

Two Research Fellow Positions
Department Of Mathematics
University of Warwick
GBP 27,578 - 35,938 pa

Both posts are available from 1 October 2012, although the start date
is negotiable. Candidates interested in both positions should submit
two separate applications.

Position 1:

Fixed term contract for 12 months

For a project "Classes of Combinatorial Objects: from Structure to
Algorithms" (CCOSA) funded by European Research Council (ERC), we are
seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow in extremal
combinatorics or algorithmic graph theory. You will work under
supervision of Daniel Kral and have a strong research record
in some of the areas related to the project, which include extremal
graph theory and extremal combinatorics in general, algorithmic
metatheorems, width parameters and fixed parameter algorithms.

Position 2:

Fixed Term Contract for 24 months

For a project funded by the European Research Council (ERC), we are
seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher in Extremal
Combinatorics to work under supervision of Oleg Pikhurko. While the
main directions of the research will be asymptotic extremal problems
for graphs and k-uniform hypergraphs (such as the Turan function and
Ramsey numbers), previous experience in these areas is not required.
More importantly, we will be looking for the depth of your research
and your proficiency in applying probabilistic, analytic, or algebraic
methods to problems of Discrete Mathematics. In particular, a
familiarity with regularity lemmas, graph limits, or flag algebras
will be a strong asset.
