applications for a (full time) PhD position to work on optimization methods for
machine learning, starting (preferably) in October 2024.
The overall purpose of the research work is the development of models and methods
to solve challenging mixed-integer optimization problems in relation with applications
of artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate is expected to have
-a strong level in operations research, mathematical programming, combinatorial
optimization,
-very good programming skills (in C++ and/or Python),
-good knowledge of some mathematical programming solvers (such as Gurobi,
CPLEX, Mosek, ...),
-good communication skills (in English and/or French).
Knowledge of French is not required. There are no teaching obligations (but
opportunities to teach in English/French may be offered for interested
candidates).
