[DMANET] Junior-Professor Position at the University of Siegen

The School of Economic Disciplines (Faculty III) at the University of
Siegen invites outstanding candidates to apply for a
Junior-Professorship (Salary Group W1 ÜBesG NRW) in Information Systems
esp. „Human-centered Design of Cyber-Physical Systems"

Holders of this position will represent the subject of cyber-physical
systems and its human-centered design in research and teaching.
Applicants should demonstrate a research focus on the following research
topics:

• User-Centered Design of Cyber-Physical Systems
• Practice-oriented Development and Implementation of Cyber-Physical Systems
• Design of Methods for Researching Cyber-Physical Systems
• Participatory Design of Cyber-Physical Systems
• Impact of Cyber-Physical Systems on Society

Applicants should have an excellent academic track record, including
publications in high-quality academic journals and conferences in the
field of Human-Computer Interaction and have wide experiences in
acquiring research funding. A PhD degree is required. Successful
applicants will be part of the iSchool ("School of Media and
Information") and will apply a multi-disciplinary research perspective
towards digitalization as well as its impact on work and organizational
practices. The professorship will be further linked to the research
training group "Locating Media" as well as the collaborative research
center "Media of Cooperation".
Applicants should have expertise and years of experience regarding the
design, development, deployment and/or usage of human-centered IT-tools
and cyber-physical systems in complex applications fields. An emphasis
is on small and medium enterprises and how to support these kinds of
enterprises with socio-technical systems and innovative methods in order
to deploy digitalization strategies. Applications should further support
the deployment of a competency center about Industry 4.0.
Applicants should contribute to the continuous improvement of the
bachelor programs and master programs in „Information Systems" as well
as "Human-Computer Interaction". The position includes mentoring and
advising students and student applicants.
Successful applicants will initially be employed for three years as
civil servant for a limited period. After positive evaluation, the
contract will be extended by another three years.
