*Context*

The RMS (Réseaux Mobilité Service or Network Mobility) research group of
Telecom Paristech is conducting research activities in networking. The
research of RMS addresses both theoritical (modeling, performance
evaluation, architecture and protocols) and practical issues (testbed,
experiments).
The RMS group is part of the Network & Computer Sc. department (INFRES
Dpt.) and the
LTCI (Laboratoire Traitement et Communication de l'information
l'Information).
The RMS group is involved in master courses in networking (ACN master
jointly with Ecole Polytechnique)
The recruited associate professor will contribute to the research and
teaching activities of the group.**

*Research*
* *
The successful candidate will take part in the research projects
activities in the team, and will alsoinitiate new research projects, in
particular on applications of Artificial intelligence to networking.
Research results will be published in leading journals and conferences.
Activities in scientific bodies, organization of special sessions,
workshops as well as involvements in committees of scientific
conferences will also be particularly encouraged. The successful
candidate will have also to develop tight cooperation with major
industrial stakeholders of the networking area.
*Teaching*
* *
Teaching can be done at bachelor level, in networking (IP networks,
mobile networks). It will also be done at master level or continuous
training level in more specialized courses such as machine learning
applied to networking, IoT, NFV/SDN, 5G, advanced IP networks.
*Required skills, knowledge and experience:*
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of networking
- IP Networks, Software Defined Networks, Network Function
Virtualization, Mobiles networks
- Network Automation
- Application of machine learning technics to networking (machine
learning, deep learning) (e.g., traffic engineering, Telemetry, Failure
Management, orchestration and automatic planning of mobile
infrastructures, Radio Resource Management, etc.)
- Very good experience in the design and proposal of original
research. Very good academic publication activity required.
- Experience of research and teaching at bachelor and master level
- Languages:
- English: fluent
- French: good level recommended. Main part of the lectures will
be taught in French.
*Recommended skills, research background and experience:*
- Experience of machine learning techniques applied to networking:
o Reinforcement learning, Online learning, Transfer Learning
o Deep Learning, Recurrent Neural Networks, …
o Algorithms for networks
- Proficiency with modern Machine Learning frameworks
o TensorFlow, spark, sk-learn…
- Experience of metrology in networks, telemetry.
o Clustering, Anomaly Detection, …
- Experience in retrieval and interpretation of
network measurements and reference data (ground-truth, labeling).
- Strong practical skills in research, handling and
analysis of huge amounts of data
- Very good knowledge of network architectures and
protocols:
o IP networks, virtualization
o Traffic engineering
o 4G/5G mobile networks evolution.

• Capacity to work in a team and develop good relationships with
colleagues and peers
• Excellent writing and pedagogical skills**
