The society today is increasingly dependent on the correct functioning of computer systems, edge devices and networks for systems and services we use every day, such as aviation, energy production & power grids, intelligent/autonomous vehicles, medical devices & electronic health records, and many others.
The Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN) is devoted to the mission of ensuring that the computing systems and networks on which society relies are dependable and secure.
DSN, one of the longest running IEEE conferences organizing its 52nd edition in 2022, has pioneered the fusion between dependability and security research under a common body of knowledge, understanding the need to simultaneously fight against accidental faults, intentional cyber-attacks, design errors, and unexpected operating conditions. Its distinctive approach to both accidental faults and malicious attacks made DSN the most prestigious international forum for presenting research furthering robustness and resilience of today's wide spectrum of computing systems and networks.
All aspects of the research and practice of dependability and applied security are within the scope of DSN. Relevant topics include innovative architectures, protocols, and algorithms, for preventing, detecting, recovering, diagnosing or eliminating accidental and malicious threats as well as experimentation with and assessment of dependable and secure systems and networks.
Authors are invited to submit original papers on the current thematic areas of DSN:
* Hardware (e.g., microprocessors, memories, system on chip, I/O devices, storage systems,Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs))
* Software (e.g., applications, middleware, distributed algorithms, operating systems, software security)
* Networked systems and clouds (e.g., wireless networks, mobility, software-defined networking, edge computing, cloud computing/storage, networks on chip, network security)
* Autonomous systems (e.g, self-driving vehicles, autonomous robots, assured autonomy, explainable decision making, acceptability)
* Cyber-physical systems (e.g., embedded systems, real-time control of critical systems, internet of things, smart grid, automotive, aerospace, railway, medical systems)
* Distributed ledgers/Blockchain (e.g., BFT/consensus algorithms, cryptocurrencies, decentralized storage, zero knowledge proofs,...)
* AI/Machine Learning for resilient systems (e.g., resilient, secure, and explainable AI/Machine Learning techniques; applications of AI/ML techniques for dependability and security)
* Models and methodologies for programming, evaluating, verifying, and assessing dependable and secure systems (e.g., performance and dependability evaluation, analytical and numerical methods, simulation, experimentation, benchmarking, verification, field data analysis)
Information to authors

Innovative papers in other areas of dependable and secure systems and networks will also be considered. Papers will be assessed with criteria appropriate to each category. The conference favors work that explores new territory, continues a significant research dialogue, or reflects on experience with (or measurements of) state-of-the-art implementations. Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, correctness and impact.
Research Papers, Practical Experience Reports, and Tool Descriptions will be refereed and included in the Proceedings of the DSN 2022, if accepted.
All contributions must be written in English. IEEE Computer Society will publish accepted contributions.
At least one author of every accepted paper is expected to register (as a regular registration) for the conference and present the work.
Paper Categories
----------------
Submissions can be made in one of the following categories (authors are required to indicate the category as part of the paper's title).
Regular papers (11 pages): full paper describing research contribution, including experimental work focused on implementation and evaluation of existing techniques in the DSN thematic areas. Papers should clearly describe a novel scientific contribution and a significant advancement of the state of knowledge in DSN relevant topics. The paper should address a significant problem with a compelling solution whose validity and practical applicability are clearly discussed.
Practical experience reports (7 pages): a shorter paper describing practitioner experiences or lessons learned applying tools and techniques to real-world problems and systems, or based on the empirical analysis of field data using a rigorous scientific approach. A paper on this category is expected to show new insights and experiences informing the research and practice of dependability and resilient computing. Contributions reporting on industry practical experiences and lessons learned are highly encouraged, including studies reporting negative results or challenges about the practical applicability or scalability of research results in industry.
Tool descriptions/demonstrations (7 pages): descriptions of the architecture, implementation and usage of substantive tools to aid the research and practice of dependability. A tool paper is expected to describe and demonstrate the value that the tool brings to the dependability community. Making the tool publicly available, whenever possible, is strongly encouraged.
The number of pages indicated above includes everything except the references: title page, text, figures, appendices, etc. Papers that exceed the number of pages for that submission category will be rejected without review.
Independently of the paper category, we expect all papers to provide enough detail to enable reproducibility of their experimental results and encourage authors, whenever possible, to make both the software developed in the experiments or datasets publicly available.
Awards
------
DSN attributes a Best Paper Award to one of the accepted scientific papers. The selection of the candidate papers for the award is carried out first by the Program Committee that picks up to six of the accepted papers; then, the Steering Committee chooses among these six papers the three candidate papers to be presented in a special session at the conference; finally, the audience at the conference votes for the paper that should receive the award.
DSN also attributes a group of awards based on nominations. These awards are the William C. Carter Ph.D. Dissertation Award in Dependability, the Rising Star in Dependability Award, the Test-of-Time Award, and the Jean-Claude Laprie Award.

We are looking for applicants from all areas of algorithms and complexity, including related areas like mathematical optimization, distributed computing, and algorithms engineering. Researchers of several nationalities work in the Algorithms and Complexity Department and our working language is English. The department is part of the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, located on the campus of Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany. We maintain close collaborations with algorithms and complexity researchers in other institutes on the campus, including the Department of Computer Science, CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security, and Max Planck Institute for Software Systems. The group collaborates with several major research institutions in Europe and the U.S. and has high international visibility. There is generous travel support available for all group members. Postdoctoral fellowships are available for two years through the Guest Program of our institute. Guest researchers are free in their choice of research topics and collaborators. It is with great pleasure to welcome you to The 5th edition of Conference
on Cloud and Internet of Things 2022 (CIoT'22) will be held from March 28
to 30, 2022 in Marrakech, Morocco.
CIoT provides a high-quality international academic and industrial exchange
forum for experts and scholars in the field of intelligent systems, cloud
computing and Internet of Things.
The conference will be designed and prepared as a in person event. However,
in the case of traveling restrictions (official or de facto) during the
conference dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be ready to convert
the conference to a fully on-line event. We hope the conditions will allow
for in-person participation, so we can enjoy face-to-face discussions and
coffee breaks again. It would also give the opportunity to participants to
visit the beautiful city of Marrakech.
CIoT'22 is a conference focusing on the challenges of managing Internet of
Things applications while considering the whole end-to-end architecture
over the sixth generation of mobile networks (6G) and next-generation data
center networking from to cloud to the edge and IoT devices. The next
generation of telecommunication networks is expected to support a growing
number of smart terminals, such as cell phones, sensors and other connected
objects, to provide real-time applications and to provide intelligence and
trust embedded in network infrastructure. To meet these requirements, the
6G envisions the use of artificial intelligence, cloud and edge computing.
The 6G network will absorb the billions of flows generated by things while
considering the requested QoS and the cohabitation of M2M, M2H and H2M
flows. Then, the flows will be processed in data centers and applications
will exploit the extracted knowledge.
The main objective of CIoT'22 is to address challenges of clouds and IoT
systems from the sensors/machines to the end-users attached to the Cloud
while considering the 6G network connecting both IoT and Cloud domains.
Authors are invited to submit original contributions that have not been
published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Papers should be prepared
using the IEEE 2-column conference style and are limited to 8 pages (full
papers). They have to be submitted electronically in PDF format. Papers
exceeding page limits, multiple submissions, and self-plagiarized papers
will be rejected without further review. All other papers will sustain a
thorough single-blind review process.
CIoT'22 will also hold an industrial track. The industrial track gathers
scholars and industrial participants to highlight practical and real-world
studies and applications of cloud and IoT technologies. This track aims to
foster cooperation between participants engaged in scientific research and
practitioners working to improve the development of new cloud and IoT
applications. Each submission should describe the problem addressed, the
approach used, the current state of the project, an evaluation of the
benefits or lessons learned, and future developments. Industrial track
submissions are extended abstracts of 2 pages.
All submissions must be written in English and must use standard IEEE
two-column conference template, available for download from the IEEE

The abstract follows.
We consider a single machine scheduling problem, where every job has a
processing time and a priority weight and the objective is to minimize
the total weighted sum of completion times. The novelty is that the job
characteristics are initially given in an imprecise manner to the
algorithm. Tests can be performed for chosen jobs to learn their precise
values, allowing for a better ordering of the jobs in the schedule.
These tests however take some time, delaying the subsequent schedule.
The algorithm needs to produce a schedule consisting of executions of
all jobs and tests of some jobs. We will present three different models
that have been studied in this context, as well as the results obtained
for each of them. The talk covers papers authored by Levi, Magnanti and
Shaposhnik, by C.D., Thomas Erlebach, Nicole Megow, Julie Meißner, and
by Fanny Dufossé, C.D., Noël Nadal, Denis Trystram and Óscar C. Vásquez.

*Aim and Scope:*
NETYS aims to bring together researchers and engineers from both the theory
and practice of distributed and networked systems. The scope of the
conference covers all aspects related to the design and the development of
these systems, including, but not restricted to, concurrent and distributed
algorithms, parallel/concurrent/distributed programming, multi-core
architectures, distributed databases, cloud systems, networks, security,
formal verification, etc.
NETYS will provide a forum to report on best practices and novel
algorithms, results and techniques on networked systems. Original research
contributions and experience papers on the principles, design,
implementation, modeling, analysis, verification, and application of
networked systems are solicited.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Cloud systems and data centers
- Parallel/concurrent/distributed algorithms and programming

*Paper submission:*
Submissions must be original papers that contain sufficient detail to
assess the merits and relevance of the contribution. NETYS welcomes papers
on theory, case studies and comparisons with existing experimental research,
tools, as well as combinations of new theory with experimental evaluation.
NETYS is soliciting two forms of submission: full and short papers. Full
papers are allowed a maximum of 15 pages in Springer's LNCS format,
excluding bibliographic references, and will be allowed at least 20
minutes for presentation at the conference, whereas short papers are
allowed a maximum of 5 pages (in the same format) and will be allowed at
least 5 minutes for presentation at the conference. A full paper
submission might be accepted as such, as a short paper or a poster. A short
paper may be accepted as such or as a poster.
Posters will be presented at the conference to reflect work in progress and
will not lead to a publication in the proceedings. Authors are given the
option to accept or not the type in which their paper is selected for
acceptance.
All submissions must be written in English, follow the LNCS template, and
adhere to the page limits. Papers exceeding these limits may be rejected
without review. A clearly marked appendix can be included for supplementary
materials but the appendix will be read at the discretion of the reviewers;
therefore, the main body of the paper should contain sufficient details to
assess its contributions.

Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science series will publish the
proceedings of the conference (www.springer.com/lncs). It is required that
each accepted paper be presented at the conference by one of its authors. The
Springer journal Computing may consider publishing extended versions of
selected papers (www.springer.com/computer/journal/607)
Awards will be given to the best paper and the best student paper. A paper
is eligible for the best student paper award if at least one of its authors
is a full-time student at the time of submission. This must be indicated in
the submission.

CONFERENCE OUTLINE:

Quality of Service (QoS) has long been the focus of communications and
networking researchers worldwide. While traditional QoS research areas
continue attracting much interest, recent exploration of Internet of
things, data centers, virtualization, cloud and fog computing, green
computing, and AI has motivated a new wave of research interest in service
guarantees with QoS, and its related metrics of Quality of Experience
(QoE), Quality of Protection (QoP), Software Quality, Data Quality, or,
more broadly, Quality of Information Technology.
For more than two decades, IWQoS has established itself as a highly
reputable forum to present novel ideas on all QoS-related subjects. The
30th International Symposium on Quality of Service (IEEE/ACM IWQoS 2022)
sets the goal to continuing to be a premier symposium and an international
forum for presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research in the
field. The scope of IEEE/ACM IWQoS 2022 covers both newest theoretical and
experimental research papers.

Paper Submission Guidelines:
IEEE/ACM IWQoS invites submission of manuscripts with original research
results that have not been previously published or that are not currently
under review by another conference or journal. Submissions will be
rigorously judged based on originality, significance, interest, clarity,
relevance, and correctness. IWQoS aims at the rapid dissemination of
research results. Regular paper submissions should be no longer than 10
single-spaced, double-column pages (including references) with a font-size
of 10. Reviewing will be double-blind. Submissions must not reveal the
authors' names and their affiliations and avoid obvious self-references.
Submissions not meeting these guidelines will be rejected without
consideration of their merits. Papers must be submitted electronically as

We are an international, interdisciplinary and interdepartmental group of researchers working together on challenging projects to develop and apply innovative mathematical methods for efficiently allocating and coordinating resources in modern logistics networks, transportation, and mobility systems. Our collective expertise spans algorithmic game theory, approximation algorithms, combinatorial optimization, inventory management, integer programming, machine learning, market and mechanism design, online algorithms, operations management, operations research, process mining, production logistics, robust optimization, scheduling, stochastic modeling, and supply chain management.

Students with a background in applied mathematics, computer science, industrial engineering, operations management, operations research, or a related field and a strong interest in interdisciplinary work will be offered a comprehensive study, training, and research program. While working in an interdisciplinary environment, students still pursue the doctoral degree in their respective departments (i.e., informatics, mathematics, or management). We are seeking excellent Postdocs and PhD candidates who have experience
and are interest in various topics from probabilistic and enumerative
combinatorics. Possible areas of work include random discrete
structures, like random graphs, phase transitions, asymptotic
enumeration and randomized algorithms, like Boltzmann sampling techniques.

The Discrete Mathematics Days 2022 will take place at Universidad de Cantabria in Santander (Spain), in July 4-6, 2022. We expect the conference to take place fully on-site.
DMD 2022 is an international conference on current topics in Discrete Mathematics, with focus including (but not limited to):

The previous two editions were held in Sevilla in 2018 (http://congreso.us.es/dmd2018/) and in Barcelona in 2016 (https://web.archive.org/web/20170504215505/http://discretemath.upc.edu/jmda16/), inheriting the tradition of the Jornadas de Matemática Discreta y Algorítmica (JMDA), the Spanish biennial meeting on Discrete Mathematics that has been taking place since 1988. The 2020 edition was intended to take place in Santander but was cancelled/postponed due to the pandemics.
The program consists of four plenary talks, a number of shorter contributed talks in two parallel sessions, and a poster session. The four plenary speakers are already confirmed:

Aims and Scope

WG conferences aim to connect theory and applications by demonstrating how
graph-theoretic concepts can be applied in various areas of computer
science. The goal is to present recent results and to identify and explore
directions for future research. Submitted papers should describe original
results in any aspects of graph theory related to computer science,
including but not restricted to:
- design and analysis of sequential, parallel, randomized, parameterized,
and distributed graph and network algorithms,
- structural graph theory with algorithmic or complexity applications,
- computational complexity of graph and network problems,
- graph grammars, graph rewriting systems and graph modelling,

Contributors are invited to submit an extended abstract of at most 12 pages
Springer LNCS format (www.springer.com/lncs) including title and abstract,
but excluding references. Proofs omitted due to space restrictions must be

discretion. All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to
another journal or conference. Accepted contributions will be published in
the conference post-proceedings in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science

Awards

WG 2022 will offer awards for the best paper and the best student paper.
The awards will be decided by the program committee. The committee can
decide to split the awards over multiple papers, or not to offer an award.

but the main work in a paper that is a candidate for the best student paper
award must be done by co-authors that were students at the time of
submission, and the award can be received only by such co-authors. It must
be indicated at the time of submission whether a paper is a candidate for
this award.

FUN is a series of conferences dedicated to the use, design, and analysis of algorithms and data structures, focusing on results that provide amusing, witty but nonetheless original and scientifically profound contributions to the area.
Fun is a notion that can be judged from different perspectives, and be defined in many different manners. The conference defines fun in a broad sense, including aspects such as elegance, simplicity, amusement, surprise, originality, etc.
The topics of interest include all aspects of algorithm design and analysis, and of computational complexity, under all types of models (sequential, parallel, distributed, streaming, online, etc.).
The conference is planned to be with all participants on site, if the situation with the pandemic allows FUN to be held that way. FUN 2022 will be co-located with FUN 2020, which was postponed due to the pandemic.

The project will mainly focus on Terwilliger algebra of a graph. In
algebraic graph theory the following situation occurs often. Let G be a
graph and let H be a certain algebraic object, associated with G. In this
case, one of the main motivations in our research is the following
question: what could we say about the combinatorial properties of G, if we
know that H has certain algebraic properties? And vice-versa: what could we
say about the algebraic properties of H, if we know that G has certain
combinatorial properties? In this project the algebraic object, associated
with G, will be a certain matrix algebra, called a Terwilliger algebra of a
graph G.

About us
The Assistant Professorship of Operations Management focusses on fundamental and application-oriented research with analytical methods (operations research, machine learning, data-driven optimization, game theory). The focus of the applications lies in transportation logistics, mobility, urban logistics, and production planning. In research, collaborations with national and international universities exist. Routing and delivery planning tools as well as new logistics concepts for urban areas have been applied in various industry and research projects.
About the project
The research project RessOurce and COst allocation for City lOgistics (ROCOCO) aims to model and develop a cost and resource allocation scheme for collaboration in city logistics networks. The goal is to apply and combine game theoretical approaches, mathematical modeling, and metaheuristics to improve efficiency and sustainability of city logistics systems.
Research environment
The student will be part of the Department of Operations at the Ingolstadt School of Management in Ingolstadt, Germany, where several students work on related problems in the area of logistics. The project is in collaboration with Teodor Gabriel Crainic from the University of Quebec and the CIRRELT in Montreal and a flexible research stay in Montreal is possible.
Requirements
We are looking for a motivated candidate with background in Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field and experience with Operations Research methods. Ideally, you have expertise in programming of algorithms and/or mathematical modelling.

SEA 2022 Call for Papers
SEA aims to attract papers from the Computer Science community, the
Operations Research/Mathematical Programming community and any other
scientific community that is concerned with the main theme of the
symposium, namely the role of experimentation and of algorithm
engineering techniques in the design and evaluation of algorithms and
data structures. Submissions should present significant contributions
supported by experimental evaluation, methodological issues in the
design and interpretation of experiments, the use of (meta-)heuristics,
or application-driven case studies that deepen the understanding of the
complexity of a problem.

We further emphasize that SEA welcomes submissions that introduce novel
applications of algorithms in other disciplines.
Submission Guidelines
The authors should submit a paper not exceeding 12 pages, excluding the
bibliography, the front page (authors, affiliation, keywords, abstract,
...), and brief appendix of up to 5 pages (figures and tables should be
counted as part of the space occupied by the appendix).
At least 10-point font should be used. Authors are strongly advised to
use the LaTeX style file supplied for the LIPIcs style
https://www.dagstuhl.de/en/publications/lipics/instructions-for-authors/. Final
proceedings papers must be camera-ready in this format. We emphasize
that a clearly marked Appendix of up to 5 pages, which will not count
toward the 12 page submission limit, can be included and will be read at
the referees' discretion. All submissions have to be made via the
EasyChair submission page for the conference
(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sea2022).
Authors are strongly encouraged to include a link to the source code
and/or datasets to increase confidence in the reproducibility of their
experiments; the code may be read and/or executed at the referees'
discretion.
Papers submitted for review should represent original, previously
unpublished work or surveys of important results. At the time the paper
is submitted to SEA, and for the entire review period, the paper (or
essentially the same paper) should not be under review by any other
conference with published proceedings or by a scientific journal. At
least one author of each accepted paper will be expected to attend the
conference and present the paper.

Proceedings and Special Issue
The conference proceedings will be published in the Leibniz
International Proceedings in Informatics (LIPIcs,
https://www.dagstuhl.de/en/publications/lipics/), a series of
high-quality conference proceedings across all fields in informatics
established in cooperation with Schloss Dagstuhl Leibniz Center for
Informatics. SEA Proceedings volumes are published according to the
principle of OpenAccess, i.e., they are available online and free of charge.
Since SEA 2008 a special issue of selected papers accepted at the
conference is published in the ACM Journal of Experimental Algorithmics
(https://dl.acm.org/journal/jea).
