to be held as part of the
2011 GENETIC AND EVOLUTIONARY COMPUTATION CONFERENCE (GECCO-2011)
July 12-16 (Tuesday-Saturday), 2011
Dublin, Ireland

PAPER SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 7, 2011
With an increasing cost and environmental impact, energy consumption in
large scale and distributed systems has become the new global IT concern
in governments, organizations, and companies. The aim of this workshop is
to bring together researchers interested in addressing challenging issues
related to the use of evolutionary computation for power consumption
optimization in large-scale and distributed computing systems.
The workshop covers all energy-efficient related topics of evolutionary
computation, including but not limited to:
- energy-efficient optimization and its applications
- energy-efficient scheduling algorithms
- optimization of energy-efficient protocols
- network design optimization- modeling
- representations, simulation and validation for energy consumption
optimization problems
- large scale and high-dimensional energy-efficient optimization
- energy-aware smart grids- thermal optimization in cloud computing/data
centers
- online dynamic optimization for energy efficient systems
- energy optimization in uncertain environments
- learning and anticipation
- robustness and performance guarantees
- real-world energy efficient optimization problems
- management and profiling tools for energy efficient systems
We invite submissions in form of a short abstract of maximally 8 pages in
ACM format. The talks should present recent research ideas, identify new
challenging problems or show obtained results. Both theoretical papers and
papers describing practical experiences will be welcome. Accepted abstracts
will be published in a separate workshop proceedings associated to the GECCO
conference which also appears in the ACM Digital Library.
Important Dates
- April 7, 2011 - submission deadline
- April 14, 2011 - decision notification
- April 26, 2011 - camera-ready files submission deadline
- May 2, 2011 - registration deadline for presenting authors
Submission
Submissions should not exceed 8 pages in ACM style. Refer to
http://www.sigevo.org/gecco-2011
for format details. All accepted papers will be presented orally at the workshop
and included in the workshop proceedings. However, unlike GECCO, we do not
require having papers submitted in anonymous format.
Papers may be submitted by 7th April, 2011 in PostScript or PDF format to: pascal.bouvry@uni.lu<mailto:pascal.bouvry@uni.lu>,
samee.khan@ndsu.edu<mailto:samee.khan@ndsu.edu> and
