The Algorithms and Complexity Group of IDSIA, University of Lugano
(Switzerland), opens one PostDoc position in approximation algorithms,
with a special focus on network design and pricing problems. The
position is supported by the European Research Council Starting Grant
"New Approaches to Network Design".
The appointment is for 2 years, with the possibility of an extension
by 2 years. The starting date will be agreed with the successful
candidate. The salary is roughly 75.000 CHF per year (taxes ~20%).
There are no teaching duties and there is a (very) generous travel
support.
An ideal candidate should have (or be close to obtaining) a PhD in
Computer Science or in a related area, and should have a strong
publication record in top Theoretical Computer Science conferences
such as STOC, FOCS, SODA, ICALP, ESA etc.
