[DMANET] PhD position: Order structures in bi-partite data, (at University of Kassel)

The International Centre for Higher Education Research (INCHER-Kassel)
is opening a new

PhD position (salary scale TV-H E13, 100%)

as part of the ELBHA-Project. The position is supervised by Prof. Dr.
Gerd Stumme at the Knowledge
and Data Engineering Group of the Unversity of Kassel. The successful
candidate will research and
develop methods and algorithms to discover order structures in
bi-partite data.

The position is part of the graduate school "Elitereproduktion im
Wandel? Die Bedeutung der
Hochschulausbildung für Karriereverläufe in verschiedenen
Gesellschaftsbereichen (ELBHA)", which was
introduced by the University of Kassel in order to sharpen and increase
the research quality for young
academics.

We welcome talented and highly motivated candidates with interest in
data mining, knowledge
representation and mathematics, as well as applications in economics and
the social sciences. The
position requires a very good knowledge in discrete structures.
Furthermore, a high social competency,
good programming skills, as well as a very good command of the English
language.
Applicants to the PhD position must have a relevant Master's degree in
Computer Science,
Mathematics, Physics or a related field.

The position is (at first) limited to 3 years (cf.
"Qualifikationsstelle" gem. § 65 HHG i. V. m. § 2 Abs. 1
Satz 1 WissZeitVG; Promotionsmöglichkeit). Applications are accepted as
of now until 2017-05-02.
