[DMANET] PhD studentship in random graphs, Goethe University Frankfurt

Supported by a joint DFG-FWF project on "Random graphs: cores, colourings and contagion", there is a

PhD studentship (3 years, E13 grade at 75%)

available at Goethe University Frankfurt in the group of Prof Amin Coja-Oghlan.

The project, which is in cooperation with Prof Mihyun Kang of TU Graz, deals with several topics
of current interest, including

- random graph colouring
- cores on random graphs
- contagion problems such as bootstrap percolation
- random systems of linear equations
- connections between combinatorics and statistical physics

The successful candidate will have a MSc degree in mathematics or a related discipline.
A strong background in probability as well as combinatorics is expected.

(Proficiency in German is not a requirement as the position does not come with
teaching obligations.)

If you are interested, please apply by email to

Michele Fellinghauer <fellingh@math.uni-frankfurt.de>

by May 23rd and include a CV, academic transcripts and a copy of your MSc thesis.
