[DMANET] Summer School on Algebraic Statistics Sep 24-28

Summer School on Algebraic Statistics
September 24-28, 2018 in Tromsø, Norway - above the polar circle.

The summer school focuses on the interplay of Algebra and Statistics and will feature four interesting mini courses presented by invited speakers and contributed talks by participants.

The mini courses are on the following topics:
Kaie Kubjas<http://www.kaiekubjas.com/> (Aalto University): Algebraic methods for maximum likelihood estimation.
Fatemeh Mohammadi<http://www.bristol.ac.uk/maths/people/fatemeh-mohammadi/index.html> (University of Bristol): Algebra and geometry of conditional independence statements and probabilistic graphical models
Carlos Amendola<http://www.luke-amendola.appspot.com/> (Technische Universität München): Signature Tensors
Sonja Petrovic<http://math.iit.edu/~spetrov1/> (Illinois Institute of Technology): The role of algebraic statistics in estimation and modelling of random graphs and networks

There is no registration fee but in order to plan lunches and dinners (which are free of charge) a registration is required.
Further, we have pre-booked beds in twin rooms in a Hotel, which we can offer to 30 participants thanks to support of the Tromsø Research Foundation (TFS).
