[DMANET] Openings for a PhD position in symbolic computation and special functions

We are looking for PhD students in two project parts in the Doctoral Program

"Computational Mathematics: Numerical Analysis and Symbolic Computation",

an excellence program funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), at the
Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria.

http://www.dk-compmath.jku.at

One possible topic is about computer algebra algorithms for proving and
finding formulas for new types of special functions, an important area
with potential applications in many areas of mathematics, natural
sciences, and engineering. For further information on this thesis
project, see

https://www.dk-compmath.jku.at/projects/pillwein

Another topic is about computer algebra algorithms for doing asymptotic
analysis in several variables, an emerging area at the interface of
computation, combinatorics, algebraic geometry, and high-precision
arithmetic. For further information on this thesis project, see

https://www.dk-compmath.jku.at/projects/kauers

Applications are considered until all positions are filled and should
be submitted at

https://www.dk-compmath.jku.at/application/
