[DMANET] PhD Position at the University of Edinburgh

The Algorithms Group at the University of Edinburgh invites applications for a

Fully-Funded PhD Position in Algorithms

The successful candidate will focus on algorithmic spectral graph
theory. In particular, the candidate will work on developing spectral
algorithms for classical combinatorial problems, as well as their
applications in machine learning and data science. We expect a
candidate with a strong mathematical background and interest in
algorithms, linear algebra, and optimisation to apply for the
position.

The student will work in the School of Informatics at the University
of Edinburgh. With over 450 academic and research staff and over 850
students, the School of Informatics at Edinburgh is the largest
Informatics research centre in Europe, and has a strong track record
in Theoretical Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. In
addition, as the capital of Scotland Edinburgh usually ranks as one of
the top cities in Europe for Quality of Life.
