We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in mathematics, computer science, operations research, or a related field, who recently completed their master's degree or are about to complete it in 2020. Knowledge in combinatorial optimization (network and scheduling algorithms, mathematical programming, ...) and programming skills are an asset.

Leuven is a beautiful and liveable city with a large and international student population in the heart of Europe, only a 20min train-ride from Brussels. Our faculty is located in the historic city center, just a 5min walk from the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Groot Begijnhof".
We offer an employment as full-time doctoral scholar for initially one year, renewable for up to four years after positive evaluation. Salary is competitive and funds for conference travels, participation in summer schools, and other activities are available. The tentative starting date is September 2020, but earlier or later dates are possible, depending on the availability of the candidate.
