The Department of Computer Science, Technical University of Munich, has a
vacancy for a PhD candidate/researcher position in the area of efficient
algorithms. The position is hosted at the Chair for Algorithms and
Complexity,
headed by Prof. Susanne Albers (http://wwwalbers.in.tum.de/index.html.en).
The dissertation work will involve research in the fields of approximation
and online algorithms, algorithmic game theory or algorithm engineering.
The position is paid according to the German public salary scale TVL-13 and
provides a competitive salary with standard benefits. The initial
appointment
is for a period of two years and can be renewed for another two years.
The successful candidate should have a Master's degree in computer science
or mathematics. Since the position involves teaching obligations, very good
proficiency in German is required. The application material should include

(3) transcripts, and (4) a copy of the Master's thesis.
