in the work group "Machine Learning with Graphs" led by Nils Kriege is
vacant. We are looking for a highly motivated and bright applicant with
strong expertise and interest in theoretical computer science,
(discrete) mathematics, machine learning, and graph theory to join our
team.
You will work on the project "StruDL: Structured Data Learning with
General Similarities" funded by the Vienna Science and Technology Fund
(WWTF) and led by Prof. Nils Kriege (University of Vienna), Prof. Thomas
Gärtner (TU Wien) and Prof. Christoph Flamm (University of Vienna). We
aim to push the boundaries of similarity-based learning for structured
data by (i) designing and analyzing general similarities for structured
data, (ii) developing learning algorithms for general similarities, and
(iii) applying combinations of these for concrete problems in
cheminformatics. The focus of your position will be on developing and
analyzing new similarity measures for structured data such as strings,
trees and graphs.
