We are delighted to announce the research school Combinatorial Geometries and Geometric Combinatorics which will take place at the CRM in Barcelona on October 2 to 17, 2025. After an optional 2-days preparation recalling basics on the topic, the program will consist of two focused weeks of courses:

Preparation (October 2-3):

* Kolja Knauer (Universitat de Barcelona), Recollection on (oriented) matroids
* Vincent Pilaud (Universitat de Barcelona), Recollection on polytopes

Polytope week (October 6-10):

* Carolina Benedetti (Universidad de los Andes, Colombia), Perspectives on flags of matroids and positroids
* Raman Sanyal (Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, Germany), Moduli polytopes: parametrizing combinatorial structures with polytopes

Matroid week (October 13-17):

* Laura Anderson (Binghamton University, USA), Intersection properties in oriented matroids
* Geoff Whittle (Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand), The impossibility of chaos: how structure arises in matroid theory

Registration and Deadlines:

The registration to the research school is now open: https://www.crm.cat/researchschoolirpmdm2025/
You can register for one or both weeks of the program, depending on your interests. If you are interested in both weeks, make sure to register to each of them. There is no need to register for the preparation part on October 2-3.

Registration fees: 150€ per week per participant. These fees cover all coffee breaks, 5 lunch tickets, and the social dinner.

Deadline: The registration deadline is September 14, 2025. You can help the organizing committee by registrating as soon as you have decided your participation.

Location:
The program will be held at CRM Barcelona, located on the campus of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Participants can take advantage of accommodations at Vila Universitaria or Hotel Campus. Details are available on the school's website.

Intensive research program CGGC25:
This research school serves as the opening event for the Intensive Research Program Combinatorial Geometries and Geometric Combinatorics, supported by the CRM, IMUB, MICINN, and la Red de Matematica Discreta.
