[DMANET] Second Call for Participation 3rd AIROYoung Workshop + PhD School

Dear colleagues,


we are pleased to announce further details on the scientific program for
the *3rd AIROYoung Workshop + PhD School *on the topic:

"*Advanced Methods in Optimization and Data Science*"

which will take place at the *Statistical Department of Sapienza University
of Rome*, on the *26th-29th March 2019*.

The two confirmed speakers for the AIROYoung Workshop are:


- Paolo Dell'Olmo, Full Professor of Operations Research at Sapienza
University, Rome,

- Laura Palagi, Associate Professor of Operations Research at Sapienza
University, Rome,


The AIROYoung School will feature the following* two international
lecturers*:


- Teodor Crainic, Professor of Operations Research at the School of
Management, Université du Quebec, Montréal,

- Endre Boros, Distinguished Professor of Operations Research at Rutgers
University, New Jersey,


and *four invited tutorials* held by:


- Lavinia Amorosi, Post-doc at Sapienza University, Rome: "*A practical
introduction to Bensolve and Polyscip for multicriteria linear optimization*
",

- Jamie Fairbrother, Post-Doc at Centre for Transportation and Logistics
(CENTRAL), Lancaster University: "*Introduction to Julia: a modern
programming language for Operational Research*",

- Nicola Gastaldon, Industrial PhD student at Padova University and
Trans-cel: "*Exposing C++ classes to Python*",

- The last tutorial will be given by the winner of an on-going
inter-university contest organized within the young OR cluster of Montreal.


With this second announcement we invite all AIROYoung members, PhD students
in Operations Research and related topics, early-stage Researchers (PhD
degree <= 5years) or anyone with a strong interest in OR (<=35years old*)
to save the date for this exciting initiative and look forward to the
registration call!*


The *participation *to both the 3rd AIROYoung Workshop and the PhD School
are *free of charge for a maximum of 50 participants* thanks to the
financial support offered by AIRO and relevant OR-related italian and
international realities.


The generosity of our sponsors allows us also to provide grants for the
accomodation of a *limited number *of participants. The number of such
grants will be disclosed in the next call, as well as how to apply for
them, and will be awarded in a first-come first-served basis.


Further information will be soon provided and will be published also on our
website and social networks.
